Summary
Monica J. Hanrahan grew up in Syracuse, New York. Ms. Hanrahan attended LeMoyne College, receiving her undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1999. Ms. Hanrahan earned her law degree at the University of Dayton School of Law in 2002. While in law school, Ms. Hanrahan was a member of Law Review.
Ms. Hanrahan has spent her entire legal career as a domestic relations trial attorney. Ms. Hanrahan’s first years of practice were at the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, and she has spent the past several years in private practice. Ms. Hanrahan is an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family Law Section. Ms. Hanrahan is the co-chair of the Women in the Profession Committee of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the State Bar of Georgia. She is also a frequent organizer of Continuing Learning opportunities for lawyers. Ms. Hanrahan joined Kessler, Schwarz and Solomiany in 2007.
Ms. Hanrahan does a significant amount of Guardian Ad Litem work.  As a Guardian Ad Litem, Ms. Hanrahan is appointed by the Court to represent the best interest of children in a contested custody dispute.  Ms. Hanrahan enjoys her role as Guardian tremendously and works both as a volunteer for needy families and also privately. 
Ms. Hanrahan is an active volunteer and sits on the Board of Directors of the International Women’s House Domestic Violence shelter. She enjoys reading and belongs to too many book clubs. Ms. Hanrahan makes her home in midtown Atlanta.
